If they are wrong, you will do things your own way anyway, so there is really no reason to get in a fight or hurt anyone while trying to prove your point.

This isn't the right moment for unnecessary sudden changes. The right thing to do isn't necessarily waiting for a change. A modification of the change to seem like a continuance on what has been, might be much better that a sudden cut.
